Due to its popularity it was made into multiple television spots in 1981. View of the World from 9th AvenueComing in at #2 View of the World from 9th Avenue is a 1976 illustration that served as the cover for the March 29th edition of the New Yorker. Maud Lewis was a Canadian folk artist, her subjects were often of animals or flowers. Many of her paintings are of outdoor scenes. Tragic PreludeTragic Prelude is a mural displayed in the Kansas State Capitol building. This piece depicts John Brown in the prelude to the Civil War. The most famous use of this image was for the album cover of Kansas (1974) the debut album of rock band Kansas.
